Group living home in Kazlų Rūda

The group living home is one of the components of the project “Establishment and development of a social services infrastructure network for persons with intellectual disabilities and/or mental disorders in the municipality of Kazlų Rūda”.

The establishment of a group living home unit is one of the most important steps in the transformation of institutional care, ensuring not only the rights of people with disabilities but also the success of quality of life and integration.

On April 2, 2024, the first group living home in Kazlų Rūda was opened in cooperation with Kazlų Rūda Municipality by the Public Institution Galimybių dirbtuvės. The group living home has already accommodated 10 working-age people. The group living home is one of the components of the project “Establishment and development of a social services infrastructure network for persons with intellectual disabilities and/or mental disorders in the municipality of Kazlų Rūda”.

Residents of group living home also attend social workshops organized by the Public Institution Galimybių dirbtuvės. In the social workshop, located at Vytauto g. 45a, Kazlų Rūda, we carry out work activities that do not require mentally straining and physically demanding work – making document binders. The social workshop aims to increase the employment of people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities, improve their work skills and enable them to live with dignity.
