SOCIAL WORKSHOP IN KAZLŲ RŪDA 2024-2029

Public Institution Galimybių dirbtuvės in cooperation with the Agency for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania and the Kazlų Rūda Municipality have started to implement the project “Transition from institutional care to community-based services in the Capital Region, Central and Western Region of Lithuania”, No. 07-018-p-0001 from March 2024.

The project aims to provide new forms of community-based services for adults with intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities, and their families (guardians, carers) and to provide the target group with individual services and support in the community that meet their needs.

Community-based services are a range of different forms and types of high-quality social, healthcare and other services provided in the community as an alternative to institutional care, ensuring that a person has the opportunity to live in the community and to receive specialised assistance in the community that meets the individual needs of the person, and promotes the independence, full participation in the community, and social inclusion of the recipients of the service.

Social services of the Public Institution Galimybių dirbtuvės for people with disabilities have been provided since 2020. We see the development of independence of people with intellectual disabilities, the strengthening of their abilities to participate as actively as possible in social life and the development of work skills as our most important goal. To achieve these goals, we provide a social workshop service.

The following activities are organised in the social workshop:

  • Folding binders.
